The study material explains the design of systems to collect, transport, and treat gas from municipal, industrial, and hazardous waste landfills. Gas-generation mechanisms and gas-transport mechanisms are also covered in this course. The course presents in detail the factors affecting LFG generation and is based on Landfill Gas Collection and Treatment Systems, USACE EM 200-1-22, Chapters 1, 2, and 3.

After completing this course, the learner will have a better understanding of site characterization and estimation of landfill gas emissions, as well as an understanding of following topics:
