In order for a pavement to perform for its service life, it must be designed properly, constructed properly, and maintained properly. This course focuses primarily on the processes necessary to provide quality pavement design. This course material is based on Project Development and Design Manual Chapter Number 11 Published by Federal Land High Ways.

At the conclusion of this course, the learner will have a better understanding of the Required Parameters for Designing and Construction of Pavements as well as an understanding of the following topics:

• The vital role of pavement design and construction
• The applicability of various methods for pavement performance improvement
• The various specification requirements and testing standards of pavement designing and construction
• The various quality control and quality assurance procedures to produce an efficient and effective pavement service life
