This course explains the modeling of specific components of bridges using three candidate schemas. The course identifies the methodologies used to evaluate the viability of building SMART Industry Foundation Class (IFC) as a bridge modeling standard. Industry Foundation Classes of soil borings are also covered in this course content. The course material is based on Bridge Information Modeling Standardization Report Volume III – Component Modeling, FHWA Publication No. HWA-HIF-16-011, Chapters 1.1 – 3.4.
