Internal curing of concrete prolongs cement hydration by providing internal water reservoirs, which do not adversely affect the concrete mixture’s physical properties. The course describes the primary concepts behind internal curing, as well as the aspects of practical applications and mixture design for internal curing. The material is based on Internal Curing for Concrete Pavements, FHWA-HIF-16-006.
